All candidates must be a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda, or legally residing in Antigua and Barbuda for such period as the Commissioner of Police may consider to be appropriate.
Candidates must be at least 18 years and not older than 35 years of age.
All interested candidates should possess at least three CXCs General I, II, III (Grade III General Proficiency from June 1998) Basic 1. English A or English B would be an asset.
All candidates must be law abiding citizens and have a high standard of personal behavior and social conduct.
Candidates must be physically fit, healthy and complete all elements of the fitness and medical exams.

An official complaint against any officer within the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda can be made at the Police Headquarters to the Office of Professional Standards or by clicking “here“.
You can make a complaint or report at any of the police stations in Antigua and Barbuda, regardless to where you reside.
E.g., If a person is residing at Grays Farm and while at Halfmoon Bay, had their bag stolen, that person can go to the Freetown Police Station to make a complaint and have their matter dealt with at that station.

Persons who wish to have police escorts services for whatever occasion should either come to police headquarters to make inquiries or write a letter to the commissioner of police indicating;
The allowed shade of tint on private vehicles are 35% all around, EXCEPT THE WINDSCREEN
Note: Persons are allowed to apply a lower percentage of tint on their personal vehicle only if a permit granting permission is obtained from the Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board (ABTB).
Highways – Persons are allowed to travel at a speed of 40 MHP
Built up areas / Commuinties / City – Persons are allowed to travel at a speed of 20 MHP
It means prepare to stop or stop once it is safe to do so. If stopping would possible cause a collision, then you must continue.
Persons are asked to remain stationary with their vehicles at the scene until the police arrives to conduct investigations. Note: Leaving the scene of a traffic collision is an offense unless the party is injured and went to get medical attention.
The police does not facilitate, negotiate or participate in compensation for parties involved.
You apply in writing to the Commissioner of Police requesting a police report. Be sure to include date of collision, location, vehicle(s) involved and the name and force number of the investigator and your contact information.

VISITORS
Please Note: If you reside in any of the OECS Member States, you may not be required to obtain a temporary license, once you are visiting. However, if you plan to reside, you are required to have a temporary driver’s license as per a visitor.
Temporary driver’s licenses can be obtained at the Coolidge Police Station and the Dockyard Police Stations as indicated on the map.

Mr. Atlee Patrick Rodney is the Commissioner of Police of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda. He was enlisted in the organization on 15th October, 1982. On 25th November, 2019 he was appointed to the rank of Commissioner of Police. With forty (40) years of service, he brings to this position a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Commissioner Rodney before joining the Police Force worked as a Primary School teacher at the Savanne Paille Primary School. Subsequently after his enlistment into the organization, used his wealth of knowledge to propel himself through the ranks. He worked in several Divisions/Departments including Special Patrol Group, Narcotics, Out Stations, Criminal Investigation, Police Training School where he was the Chief Instructor, Human Resource and the Staff Office. He was seconded to the Regional Security Services (RSS) and worked as the Staff Officer there.
During his policing career, Commissioner Rodney attended several notable courses to include Hostage Negotiations, RSS Instructors Manuel Development for Recruit Syllabus, First Management of Project on International Cooperation, RSS Staff & Command, CARICOM Disaster Relief Unit Annual training and Executive Leadership. He also attended the 26th Annual General Meeting of Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police, Seminar on Emerging Communication Network for Developing Countries, Police Management, Intelligence Gathering and Analysis from Governments and other Institution in the Caribbean and Central America.
He pursued studies and was awarded his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from the University of Valle de Puebla in Mexico on February 18, 2011. In the year 2019, Commissioner Rodney was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal (QPM) for his contributions to National and Regional Security in the Caribbean Region on April 5 2018.
