VIVIAN PARKER

On January 8th, 1988, Vivian Parker was sworn into the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda as Police Constable number 193. Following six months of rigorous recruit training at the Sir Wright F. George Police Academy, he graduated as part of Course 27 on June 30th, 1988.

Throughout his career, Parker demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill, serving in various departments including Out Stations, Special Service Unit, and the Coast Department. His commitment to excellence led to numerous opportunities for advancement.

In 1996, Parker was selected as an instructor with the Regional Security System (RSS), where he excelled in delivering military and police duty subjects. His performance was consistently graded as highly credible. Upon his return, he was appointed as a police instructor at the Police Training School, earning the rank of Staff Parker. Leveraging his RSS experience, Parker’s expertise contributed significantly to the training of future officers.

His exemplary service and leadership qualities were recognized as he progressed through the ranks, from Constable to Staff Sergeant, and eventually to the esteemed position of Commandant at the Police Training School. Parker’s roles encompassed a diverse range of responsibilities, including classroom instruction, weapons training, drill sergeant duties, and management of logistical operations.

In a remarkable culmination of his career, Vivian Parker achieved the prestigious rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police and assumed the role of Chief of the Fire Brigade within the Police Force. As Chief, he commands the Fire Service in Antigua and Barbuda, overseeing critical operations aimed at ensuring public safety and emergency response readiness across the nation.

Parker’s journey from a dedicated recruit to a high-ranking officer epitomizes the epitome of professionalism, leadership, and unwavering commitment to service. His exemplary track record, marked by numerous accomplishments and accolades, stands as a testament to his passion for upholding law and order, protecting communities, and fostering resilience in the face of adversity. As Assistant Commissioner and Chief of the Fire Brigade, Vivian Parker continues to embody the finest traditions of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, leaving an indelible mark on the organization and the nation.

COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

ATLEE P. RODNEY, QPM, BS​

Mr. Atlee Patrick Rodney is the Commissioner of Police of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda. He was enlisted in the organization on 15th October, 1982. On 25th November, 2019 he was appointed to the rank of Commissioner of Police. With forty (40) years of service, he brings to this position a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Commissioner Rodney before joining the Police Force worked as a Primary School teacher at the Savanne Paille Primary School. Subsequently after his enlistment into the organization, used his wealth of knowledge to propel himself through the ranks. He worked in several Divisions/Departments including Special Patrol Group, Narcotics, Out Stations, Criminal Investigation, Police Training School where he was the Chief Instructor, Human Resource and the Staff Office. He was seconded to the Regional Security Services (RSS) and worked as the Staff Officer there.

During his policing career, Commissioner Rodney attended several notable courses to include Hostage Negotiations, RSS Instructors Manuel Development for Recruit Syllabus, First Management of Project on International Cooperation, RSS Staff & Command, CARICOM Disaster Relief Unit Annual training and Executive Leadership. He also attended the 26th Annual General Meeting of Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police, Seminar on Emerging Communication Network for Developing Countries, Police Management, Intelligence Gathering and Analysis from Governments and other Institution in the Caribbean and Central America.

He pursued studies and was awarded his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from the University of Valle de Puebla in Mexico on February 18, 2011. In the year 2019, Commissioner Rodney was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal (QPM) for his contributions to National and Regional Security in the Caribbean Region on April 5 2018.
